WELCOME TO THE "OFFICE HOURS WITH DR. JENN"

In these 2-hour group sessions, we will embark on a journey that delves into the depths of historical pain, ancestral trauma, and the generational processes that shape our lives. We're not just considering therapists* as laborers or instruments but as whole individuals with rich experiences.

Who is this for?

Professional Care Workers, such as therapists, social workers, APNs, somatic practitioners, peer support advocates, coaches, spiritual & intuitive guides, bodyworkers, and those that hold space and tend to emotions.

What are the "Office Hours with Dr. Jenn" ?

This offering is a Human-First-Professional-Development-Consultation Group that offers Care Workers from all fields to:

    • Unlearn and Learn in community,
    • Ask the burning questions you have as a practitioner,
    • Systematically and gently integrate Dr. Jenn’s emotional-decolonial frame,
    • Receive guidance, feedback, and practical application with support,
    • Engage in a human-centered Group Experience,
    • Engage in 3-way learning,
    • Receive resources for creating a holistic emo-decolonial frame, and
    • Practical applications that are realistic and paradigm-shifting.

The focal points of these transformative "office hours":

Anti-Pathology Space: We'll create a safe environment that challenges traditional pathologizing approaches.

Pro-Humanizing Helper Space: Therapists are more than just helpers; they are whole individuals with unique experiences and stories.

Forming a Relationship with Rage: Explore the wisdom and power in acknowledging and embracing your sacred rage.

Pro-Queer, Pro-Black: Our discussions will embrace diversity and inclusivity, honoring the experiences of the queer and Black communities.

Making Space for Messiness: Life is messy, and we'll embrace the complexity and beauty of it all.

Your Questions, Dr. Jenn's Insights

During these sessions, you'll have the chance to submit your questions to Dr. Jenn. While we may not be able to address every question, you'll gain invaluable insights from the questions and answers of your fellow participants. In order to preserve the privacy and safety of the container, the calls will NOT be recorded.

NOTE: You will have the opportunity to send in 2-3 questions for Dr. Jenn to answer before the session. Not all questions will be answered but, you will learn from other people’s questions and answers.

A politicized group consultation can support you with:

  • Having a place to come in and ask the “unaskable” questions and talk about the things that keep you up at night in your work.
  • How to navigate putting your therapeutic education to use when not wanting to be confined to licensure.
  • How to work with people who have done a lot of personal development, and have a good intellectualized grasp on concepts but they are not embodying the change/ healing.
  • Managing power dynamics with colleagues, supervisors, and institutions.
  • Discovering more language that is in alignment with your values.
  • How to integrate ancestral knowledge & invite community healers into your work.
  • How to live your boundaries whether with clients, colleagues, supervisors
  • How to talk to coworkers you really like about uncomfortable things.
  • How to stay buoyant and inspired
  • How to incrementally and consistently engage in intellectual, emotional and somatic practices that help to unhook you from white supremacy.
  • Investigate the energetics of white supremacy still affecting you and your practice.
  • How to navigate history, lineage and identity and how that shapes and influences the struggles people come in with and how you meet them.

Disclaimer: The "Office Hours" are not therapy, and they are not supervision.

Pricing

I am offering a sliding scale because not all practitioners have the same range of pricing.  The true cost of this contained space is $275.  However, it is important to me that it remains accessible to those who can’t meet that.

The sliding scale options recommended are $60 / $100/ $150 / $200 / $250. From one care worker to another, I trust you to locate yourself based on how much you would or do charge for your own services. Thank you for this consideration.

YOU BELONG IN THE ROOM!

Who am I and what is my approach?

I am Dr. Jennifer Mullan.  I have a Masters in Counseling & Community Agencies from NYU, a doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Trauma Transmission and Community Trauma from California Institute of Integral Studies, and I hold more than 3000+ hours total for APA internships, and practicums in multiple facilities from hospitals, prisons, outpatient centers, residentials, partial care hospitalization,  abuse treatment & prevention programs (ATPP) and child and adolescent violent trauma centers. In a very Western clinical sense- I have lived and breathed historical, cultural, community and child & adolescent trauma for over 25+ years.

I have been in the energy of abolition, decolonization and reindigenization, re-integrating the energy of “black-ness” for the past 12 years.  This has been possible through community and grassroots organizing, becoming politicized, walking in the world as African and Indigenous Black Latine’ Panamanian, Irish, Italian, cisgender, queer, neurodivergent and loud AF.  I grew up in the inner city, my parents working poor, and yet as present as possible- given the environmental and historical circumstances they were facing.

I have unlearned and learned through an ancestral lens (i.e. Santeria & IFA: African Indigenous, Panamanian Kuna Indian mysticism, Buddhism, North and Central American shaman traditions and initiations).  Additionally, my work is informed by: psychodynamic, somatic, psychodrama, narrative therapy, energy work, EMDR, internal family systems, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Tapping, rage-work, death & grief doula ritual practices, and a more African-centered polyvagal lens.

This group will be being held in a deep, emotional decolonial frame where we're considering historical pain, ancestral trauma, we're considering familial family generational process.

This work also holds space for the therapist as a whole person, rather than as a tool for emotional labor.  We understand professional care workers as vehicles, containers, transmuters, alchemists, catalysts, and as energetic instruments of possibility, healing, and change.  You are more than your title, certifications, and initials.
